The Japanese embassy in Azerbaijan and the Eurasia International Press Foundation, which acts as a beneficiary, have signed a grant agreement on the project "Providing supplies for clearing Tartar District of mines".

Report informs that the main goal of the project is to step up the ongoing mine and UXO clearance activities in Azerbaijan by providing 11 mine detection detectors, 11 sets of protective clothing, and a pickup truck manufactured by the Japanese Mitsubishi company for use in Tartar District and ensuring safer conditions there.

The Japanese embassy will allocate $88,224 (about 149,098 manats) to purchase supplies provided by the project.

Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada noted that his country is ready to continue supporting the demining of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and the restoration of these lands as a whole.
