Tehran welcomes the agreement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia on Nagorno-Karabakh, said Mahmoud Vaezi, head of Iran's presidential administration.

"Iran praises Russia's role as a mediator and a ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We continue to emphasize the need for both countries to respect internationally recognized borders and ensure the rights of all citizens," he wrote on Twitter.

Report informs, citing Sputnik, that according to him if the conflict parties adhere to international norms, negotiations and a political path can end the crisis. Vaezi also expressed hope that the agreement would be implemented.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has forced Armenia to capitulate.

The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia, and the Prime Minister of Armenia have signed a joint statement.
