There is no administrative unit called 'Nagorno-Karabakh,' President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said, speaking in his interview with the Anadolu Agency, Report informs.
"During my recent speech at the UN General Assembly, I called on all countries not to use the expression 'Nagorno Karabakh' anymore. There is no such administrative unit in the territory of Azerbaijan! There are the regions of Karabakh and East Zangazur. In such a situation, new issues on the Minsk Group's activity must be formed. That is, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is over. What can be done at this stage? I think that we need trust-building measures, then opening roads and corridors, that is, we need the support for the peace process, resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, efforts towards signing the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, this is what we offer. The scope of the co-chairs' activity must consist of what I have listed. Can the non-existent Nagorno Karabakh unit have a status? Certainly, not. I have already said, and I want to repeat that if anyone wants to grant status to Nagorno Karabakh, let them create such a structure or republic in their own territory and recognize its independence. We can also recognize it, but not in the territory of Azerbaijan," the head of state said.
