On September 27, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke at the extraordinary session of the Turkic Council Foreign Ministers.
Report informs that the minister stressed the importance of this date for Azerbaijan, noting that the 'people of Azerbaijan mark this day as the Day of Remembrance of the eternal memory of our martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.'
"September 27 has become a turning point in the history of Azerbaijan. In response to yet another aggressive attack by Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a counter-offense using its right to self-defense. The illegal occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, which lasted for three decades, has ended. The strong political will, multiplied by professionalism and military and technical superiority of the country's armed forces, ensured the historic victory in the fight for justice and restoration of Azerbaijani people's rights. The victory in the Patriotic War is the triumph of international law and justice," the foreign minister said.
Bayramov also stressed the principled position of the Turkic Council, which supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
"On this occasion, I would like to thank all member-states of the Turkic council for this support," the foreign minister said.
