"The European Union is not a party to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. However, it has certain mechanisms to regulate the problem," Chairman of the Board of the Center for International Relations Analysis Farid Shafiyev said at a press conference on the results of his visit to Brussels.

He said the main issue was the support of the EU and its member states in the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan: "As you know, the European Commission is being reformed. But the last chairman of the commission, Donald Tusk, supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. In addition, the European Commission condemns “elections" of the occupied country in the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh and statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in August.

The head of the center said that the European Union cannot actively participate in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as the OSCE Minsk Group is involved in solving the problem: "The European Commission also does not see its active role in the settlement of the conflict. They can only support certain projects. The main thing is that the EU supports us in resolving the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan."
