Azerbaijan is working to turn Karabakh into a green energy zone, Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov said at the Azerbaijan-EU business forum, Report informs.
He said that different regions of the liberated Azerbaijani territories have different potential in this regard.
Soltanov noted that so far four small hydroelectric power plants have been commissioned in Karabakh, and work is underway on five more.
He reminded that Azerbaijan has identified five main areas in accordance with the National Development Strategy until 2030, one of which is a clean environment.
Soltanov noted that Azerbaijan plans to reduce harmful emissions by up to 40% by 2050.
