"Starting from the afternoon on July 12, the enemy, unlike usual, began shelling at our units located in the direction of the Tovuz region of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. Along with the positions, the villages located on the border were also fired by the hostile party," Report quotes, the head of Defense Ministry's press service, Colonel Vagif Dargahli, as saying.
According to him, the direction of Tovuz is far from Nagorno-Karabakh and the occupied territories that are under the constant control of the Azerbaijani Army in the process of violating the ceasefire on the frontline. There are several factors which activated the enemy in this direction. But one of the critical points is the shaking leadership of the ruling clan in Armenia. If you remember, there was the issue of sending Nikol Pashinyan's son to serve in Nagorno-Karabakh and our occupied territories. However, it is under a cloud whether he served in that area. His name was registered here, while he was at home. He did not even leave Yerevan. Shortly after, when Pashinyan's son returned from military service, such provocation occurred in this direction. Another point is the chaos and disorder in the Armenian armed forces located in this area.
Dargahli said that there are combat readiness plans determined by the Azerbaijani Army's command against any situation: "Our units in the direction of provocation were immediately ready to prevent the enemy's activities and managed it."
