China calls on de-escalate situation in Karabakh

The Chinese government has called on Armenia and Azerbaijan not to escalate the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, and to resolve their differences through dialogue, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a briefing on Monday.
"China believes that maintaining peace and stability in the region is in all parties' interests, including Armenia and Azerbaijan. We hope that the relevant sides will deliberate and take measures to prevent further growth of the conflict," he noted.
"We hope that the parties will resolve their differences through political dialogue," the diplomat emphasized.
