Brenda Shaffer: It’s miracle for me to be in Shusha

The results of the 44-day war showed the importance of real power, international energy and foreign policy specialist and faculty member of the US Naval Postgraduate School Brenda Shaffer said at the conference of think tanks “South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation” in Azerbaijan’s Shusha city, Report informs.

“For me, it's a miracle to be in Shusha, to see the walls of the Shusha fortress. After all, some, perhaps, never dreamed of visiting here,” Shaffer said.

She noted the importance of restoring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, stressing that one of the main problems is the issue of mine clearance.

She added that the launch of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), which became an important step in diversifying energy supplies to the European market, is one more success of Azerbaijan, demonstrating its leading role in the region.
