Bauer: Red Cross assists mine victims

Demining of territories is the main task for the government of Azerbaijan. The Red Cross is also involved in the process of providing assistance to victims of mine explosions, mainly physical rehabilitation, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan Ariane Bauer said at the international conference "Humanitarian demining and sustainable development goals" held in Baku.

According to her, in addition to medical assistance, psychological assistance is also provided to victims of mine explosions.

"The Red Cross provides extensive support in this matter, extending financial support to mine victims. We also support ANAMA in raising awareness of the threat of mines. Azerbaijani institutions are doing a good and invaluable job," Bauer said.
