Azerbaijan plans to return former IDPs to their homes soon, president says

"We are already investing. A special investment program has been adopted for the liberated territories. The amount for the current year is planned to be about USD 1.3 billion. The investment is mainly made in infrastructure projects. Electricity supply to 10,000 km² of liberated areas will be completed by the end of this year," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in his interview to Italian La Repubblica newspaper on October 7, Report informs.

"We are currently constructing roads and railways. A new airport in Fuzuli is ready. It has already received the first planes. We built it in eight months. Construction of two more airports is underway. Along with this, we have already started construction projects for residential buildings. The master plans of the two cities have been approved, and work has begun. That is, we have started to work very actively, and we plan to return the former IDPs to their homes as soon as possible," the head of state said.
