Egypt is interested in contributing to the development of construction sector and in demining the liberated lands of Azerbaijan, Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Adel Ibrahim told Report.
“We’re preparing for a long-term cooperation in this regard,” he said, adding that there are the instructions on the highest level in Egypt encouraging the local companies to participate in the reconstruction process of the liberated territories.
As for the construction sector, the Ambassador noted that one of the Egyptian companies that previously came to Azerbaijan held the necessary meetings and is now working on setting up a branch here to be able to participate in the reconstruction: "They are probably interested in building hospitals and hotels. They are very serious; they have the support of the Egyptian government and are very welcome here."
Another sector where Egypt can work is demining, said the ambassador, noting that Egypt has a big experience in it, since the country had remaining of mines from the Second World War.
“We offer our experiences in this. I have visited ANAMA and we discussed how Egyptian companies can help in that. Probably soon we can find the framework and how to bring Egyptian companies here,” concluded the ambassador.
