Ambassador: EU supports demining of liberated Azerbaijani territories

The EU supports the demining work in the regained Azerbaijani territories, Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said, Report informs.

He was commenting on the readiness of the EU countries to take part in the restoration of infrastructure in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation.

“We are the largest supporter of the UNDP programs in demining which is of course a prerequisite for anything, any future development in this area and the return of people,” he said.

“At the same time, we pay attention to everything, to all the information that is coming in this regard, and the number of ideas, presented projects is in line with priorities that are part of our cooperation with Azerbaijan. I want to mention green energy and renewable sources of energy and also the concept of smart cities and smart villages that are sectors which we are foreseeing for support in the future.”
