Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s famous khaki fleece has sold for £90,000 at a fundraising auction for Ukraine in London, Report informs referring to The Telegraph.

Boris Johnson suggested the garment should go for much higher than its £50,000 starting price, which the Prime Minister described as “a snip” as he urged people to dig deep and spend big.

The hammer came down at almost double the price at an event at the Tate Modern, raising vital funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia in February.

The Ukrainian president, who is also known for his trademark green military fatigues, was pictured touring besieged Kyiv in the fleece.

Zelenskyy gave a speech by video link before the bidding at the Brave Ukraine fundraiser, during which he praised the UK and “brave Boris”, who has visited him in Kyiv.

The auction, which was run by Christie’s, boasted other lots including a cockerel jug presented to Johnson during his walkabout with Zelenskyy in the Ukrainian capital.
