Swedish woman keeps her son locked up for 30 years

Stockholm police have detained a 70-year-old resident of the capital region on suspicion of illegally depriving his son of his liberty, Report says, citing Expressen newspaper.

The woman kept her son in a closed place for 28 years from the age of 12.

According to the publication, a relative came to the woman's house recently. Entering the apartment, she saw a man in the house with wounds and scratches, without teeth, frightened to death, unable to stand.

Thus, for many years, the relative suspected the woman of isolating her son from society. When the woman was taken to the hospital, she decided to look at the apartment. At this time, her terrible suspicions were confirmed. The guest immediately called the doctors and took the 41-year-old man to the hospital. Doctors now describe his condition as serious.

The other acquaintances said that the mother took her son out of school at the very beginning of the seventh grade, and he has been kept in solitary confinement all day since then. The woman convinced her son that everyone - relatives, neighbors, acquaintances, society - wants to harm them, and only she can protect them both.

Police have not yet questioned the woman or her son.
