Baku. 26 October. REPORT.AZ/ Japan census has showed first decline in population since 1920.

Report informs citing the Japan media, data released by the Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications state.

It was noted that the number of Japanese dropped to 127 million in a national census for 2015, down 0.8 percent compared with 2010 figures, according to the study conducted each five year.

Number of people over 65 years old made 33.42 mln in Japan in 2015, which means 26,7% of its population.

Notably, 1 mln 750 thousand foreigners live in Japan.
