Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran are collaborating on a project to expand the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), focusing particularly on the railway line, stated Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a briefing today, Report informs.

Zakharova highlighted Russia’s satisfaction with the three countries are aimed at consistently expanding the potential of the transport corridor.

"The automobile route has already been launched and operating successfully. The volume of cargo flow is increasing steadily year by year. We are now focusing on creating railway logistics in the western part of the corridor. This will be possible after completing the construction of the section between the cities of Rasht and Astara, which spans 162 kilometers," she noted.
