Uzbekistan has proposed to initiate pilot transportation in several directions across the territories of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries for the future implementation of the Simplified Customs Corridor Agreement, Report informs.
The proposal was made by Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, the Chairman of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, during his speech at the 10th Meeting of Heads of Customs Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku.
"I propose to initiate pilot transportation in several directions across our countries' territories for the future implementation of the Simplified Customs Corridor Agreement, using existing bilateral information exchange channels. We want our entrepreneurs to see real benefits from this document," Mavlonov emphasized.
According to him, his country actively supports the implementation of the Trans-Caspian Customs Transit portal initiated by Azerbaijan: "We propose to accelerate the signing of the legal basis for using the transit portal. It is necessary to study the creation of a unified calculation mechanism for border collections, notification about non-tariff measures, and the issue of using guarantees in the portal."
