53 container trains will pass along corridor China-Azerbaijan-Europe in 2016

Baku. 3 June. REPORT.AZ/ Passage of up to 53 container trains on the routes Trans-Caspian international transport route (TMTM) from China through Kazakhstan in Baku, Tbilisi and Istanbul is planned to organize in 2016. 

Report informs citing Express-K, the head of JSC "Kazakhstan railways", Askar Mamin said.

"Via the Trans-Caspian international transport routecontainer service Nomad Express was launched and pilot container trains organized from China to Azerbaijan, Turkey and back, as well as from Ukraine to China.

In the current 2016, up to 53 container trains will be organized on the route Baku-China, China-Tbilisi-Istanbul China", said A. Mamin.

According to him, it is planned to run container trains from the Baltic countries via the Black Sea ports with integrated container service Nomad Express to destination in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and China. The potential of the Trans-Caspian route as a bridge between Asia and Europe by 2020 is estimated at 300 thousand containers per twenty-foot equivalent (TEU).
