Climate and security approaches in cities need to be integrated.
Report informs that António Sampaio, adviser to the UN Climate Security Mechanism, said this as part of WUF13 in Baku.
He noted that the issue is not about creating new bureaucratic structures, but about closer integration of existing mechanisms.
According to him, existing climate security frameworks can be used to include issues of urban climate, peace and security in risk analysis and planning processes.
