Turkey holds talks to resume international flights

Turkey, which halted domestic and international flights due to the coronavirus pandemic, has resumed domestic flights on June 1, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

Domestic flights were suspended in Turkey on April 3 due to the coronavirus pandemic, following the suspension of international flights announced by President Tayyip Erdoğan on March 27.

"Today, we are resuming domestic flights. Increased security and social distancing measures have been taken at airports and on planes to prevent coronavirus and minimize the risk to the health of passengers and staff," Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu told reporters.

According to him, Turkey will operate first flights on domestic lines from Istanbul to Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, and Trabzon. He added that Turkey is negotiating with other countries to resume international flights.
