Safar Mehdiyev: Azerbaijani customs service stands for strengthening cooperation with WCO

The Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee (SCC), Safar Mehdiyev, has held a video conference with Deputy Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Ricardo Trevino Chapa.

Report informs citing the committee that the WCO strategic plan and issues related to elections in the organization were discussed at the meeting.

Mehdiyev noted that the Azerbaijani customs service stands for further improvement of information exchange through information technologies and strengthening cooperation in this direction.

Ricardo Trevino Chapa commended the reforms in Azerbaijan's customs system and the results achieved and highly appreciated the cooperation between the WCO and the customs service of Azerbaijan.

Then the parties discussed the upcoming elections in the organization, and expressed their views and proposals.
