Rufat Mahmud: Icherisheher balances commercialization with heritage preservation

Azerbaijan seeks to maintain a balance between commercialization and the preservation of historical heritage in Icherisheher.

Report informs that Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of the Administration of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher," said this at an event held as part of WUF13 in Baku.

He noted that historic cities should be preserved alongside economic activity.

Mahmud also emphasized the importance of involving residents in the city's economic activity and preventing excessive commercialization.
