Rossbach: One billion people worldwide still lack access to water

Currently, one billion people around the world live in informal settlements where access to water remains a problem, Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, said during a conference held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.
Report quotes her as saying access to housing and basic services is one of the organization's strategic priorities. To address water supply-related challenges, both urban planning policy and social housing policy must be implemented simultaneously.
