Urban space must be shaped not only as an engineering system, but also as an environment that is equitable for young children, Maria Pacheco, Manager of the Cali Urban Development and Renewal Company (EDRU) (Colombia), said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
"In several districts of the city's central part, children and adolescents make up approximately 24% of the total population. Based on this understanding, Cali has developed a number of practices. Among them is the Viguera Boulevard project, which is being implemented in the eastern part of the city, where approximately 60% of young children are concentrated," she noted.
