Historical and cultural heritage in Azerbaijan's formerly occupied territories was subjected to vandalism.
Report informs that Masim Mammadov, Special Representative of the President in Lachin district, which is part of the Eastern Zangazur Economic Region, said this at a session held as part of WUF13 in Baku.
He noted that in the territories that were under occupation for about 30 years, all infrastructure was destroyed, and cities and villages were ruined.
"Thousands of people were forced to leave their homes. Azerbaijan's fate changed only thanks to the will of a leader ready to act decisively. Today, life is returning to the region," Mammadov said.
