Major shipping company MSC plans to open office in Azerbaijan

The Switzerland-based global shipping giant Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced its plans to open an office in Azerbaijan. The decision was revealed by Alkan Alicik, the Managing Director of MSC's Georgian branch, during the Black Sea-Caspian Logistics Forum 2024 held in Baku.

Alicik emphasized Azerbaijan's strategic location at the crossroads of important trade routes between Europe and Asia. The country has been actively investing in the development of transport corridors, ports, and warehousing facilities, making it an attractive destination for global logistics companies.

"MSC's decision to enter the Azerbaijani market is driven by the country's strategic importance in the transport and logistics sphere, its advantageous geographical position, and its developing infrastructure," Alicik stated. "MSC plans to expand its operations in Azerbaijan, and one of the key elements of this plan is the opening of an office."
