Ismet Abasov: Azerbaijan’s location allows to be an effective transport corridor

Kiev. 27 March. REPORT.AZ/ The geographical position of Azerbaijan allows organizing effective trade not only within the country, but also in neighboring countries.

Answering the question of the correspondent of the Ukrainian bureau of Report, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ismet Abbasov said at a briefing following the summit of the GUAM countries.

"The geographical position of Azerbaijan allows us to be an effective transport corridor in the North-West and East-West directions. The position of Azerbaijan allows organizing effective trade not only in the country itself, but also in neighboring countries", deputy prime minister said.

According to him, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project will also allow to optimize trade in the western, and Baku port - in the eastern directions.

"Azerbaijan demonstrates readiness to develop trade among the GUAM countries, and not only through its transport corridors," I. Abasov said.
