​Islamabad Chamber of Commerce: Direct air link between Islamabad and Baku will help in promoting trade with Azerbaijan

Baku. 28 August. REPORT.AZ/ " Direct air link between Islamabad and Baku will help in promoting Pakistan’s trade and exports with Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries."

Report informs citing PakObserver, this was stated by Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, commenting on flights on the Baku-Istanbul-Islamabad route, which are planned to be carried out by Turkish Arlines.

Islamabad—Turkish Airlines is planning to launch direct flights from Islamabad to Baku twice a week by the end of September 2015 and all necessary preparations for this purpose are being finalized,  Mr. Yunus Mert, General Manager, Turkish Airline  stated during his visit to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

He said Turkish Airlines has already started daily flights for Islamabad and Lahore and now it was planning to connect Pakistan with Central Asia by launching twice a week flights from Islamabad to Baku.

The flights on the route Baku-Istanbul-Islamabad were to begin on 12 August. However, due to technical issues, the beginning of flights were postponed to a later date.
