Ilham Aliyev: Toganali-Kalbajar road construction begins

"Another important project has already been launched. This is the Toganali-Kalbajar road, which is challenging terrain," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said during a video conference on the results of 2020 on January 6.

"Due to the altitude of 3,500 meters in some places, it isn't very easy to use this road in the winter months. Therefore, we planned tunnels' construction, gave relevant instructions, and this project is being implemented. Simultaneously, it was instructed to build a road from Horadiz to Zangilan, from there to Gubadli, and then to the Lachin region. So preparations are underway. I must add that the route from Toganali to Kalbajar will continue to Lachin. Thus, we will create way and transport infrastructure from both the north and the south to Lachin and Kalbajar regions," the head of state added.
