Georgian Finance Minister visits customs checkpoint on border with Azerbaijan

Georgia's new Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili visited the Red Bridge customs checkpoint on the border with Azerbaijan, local Bureau of Report informs, citing Georgian Finance Ministry.

The Minister got acquainted with the conditions and working regime at the checkpoint with Levan Kakava, the Head of Revenue Service.

Khutsishvili thanked the customs officers for the worthy fulfillment of their duties: "The "Red Bridge" customs checkpoint on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border operates within 24 hours despite the pandemic conditions. International cargo processing and clearance are carried out on the territory of Georgia. We thank our customs for their activities."

Khutsishvili was appointed Minister of Finance on April 1. He replaced Ivane Machavariani, who resigned from this position.
