Georgia has put forward a proposal for member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to engage in joint projects, Zurab Sitchinava, Head of the Customs Department of Georgia's State Revenue Service, Report informs.
Sitchinava made this proposal during his speech at the 10th Meeting of the OTS Heads of Customs Administrations in Baku.
He noted that the proposed projects include the establishment and operation of joint border crossing points, as well as the facilitation of transit: "These initiatives will become even more important especially after Georgia joins the new digitalized transit system."
Sitchinava added that this year's main priority for OTS member countries is ensuring efficiency, welfare, and security through customs: "Work should continue in these three main directions."
