Qatar is interested in getting access to the Silk Road, a transport corridor to European countries, Qatar's Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti said.
According to Report's local bureau, he spoke at a meeting with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava.
The Georgian side introduced specific proposals for joining the corridor.
According to Turnava, Qatar is interested in involvement in port infrastructure and corridors passing through Georgia.
"The corridor carries freight from Qatar, but we seek to make the transportation more systematic. Moreover, we are interested in Qatar's involvement in infrastructure projects in Georgia," she noted.
