Electric planes to be produced by 2035 Electric planes will be produced until 2035, mainly in ‘small aviation,’ Mikhail Gordin, Director-General of the Central Institute of Aviation Engine-Building named after P. I. Baranov, told RIA Novosti, Report informs.

"According to different researches, the electric aircraft and helicopters with limited flight distance (small aviation) will have 19 seats until 2035-2040. At the same time, flying taxis with 4 seats will be supplied with electric-engine," he said.

Gordin said that the full electric planes will not have usual heat engines: "In such planes, electric engines are used to create traction. Such a power device obtains the energy from accumulators or fuel elements. This is an ideal scheme in terms of lack of harmful wastes, as well as service and reliability."
