Cargo transportation in TRACECA's Azerbaijan segment up by 9%

In January-March 2021, the volume of cargo transported on the Azerbaijani part of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) was 10,176,200 tons, and the cargo turnover was 2,405,200,000 ton/km, down 2,349,800 tons or 18.8% from in the same months of 2020.
Over the past year, freight turnover decreased by 230.3 million ton/km or 8.7%.
According to statistics, 5,636,000 tons (55.4%) of all cargo were carried out by road, 3,349,400 tons (32.9%) - by rail, 1,190,800 tons (11.7%) - by sea.
In the total volume of cargo transportation along the corridor, 23.5% or 2,393,900 tons were transit cargo, up 191,700 tons or 8.7% from a year ago.
