Azerbaijani and Bulgarian prime ministers attend opening of Baku-Sophia flight

Baku. 16 January. REPORT.AZ/ The maiden non-stop flight from Baku to Sophia took off today.

Report informs referring to the AZERTAC, prime ministers of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade and Bulgarian prime minister Boyko Borisov, who is on an official visit in Azerbaijan have attended the opening ceremony.

The agreement to launch the Baku-Sophia flight was achieved between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev as part of the negotiations. Sophia became the first European Union city where the first Azerbaijani low-cost carrier Buta Airways to perform direct flights.

The flights will be carried out once a week on Wednesdays.
