Azerbaijan studying Georgia's experience in geographical indications

Representatives of the Ministries of Economy and Agriculture of Azerbaijan paid a visit to Georgia, Report informs, citing the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (Sakpatenti).

The Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the experience of Georgia on geographical indications and names of origin at Sakpatenti. They were provided with detailed information on registering geographical indications and the criteria that a product with particular characteristics must meet.

A presentation on the main standards set by the Georgian Law on Original Names and Geographical Indications was made at the meeting.

The Azerbaijani delegation visited food industry enterprises operating in various regions of Georgia and got acquainted with the production process of local traditional products, food safety, and quality standards.
