Azerbaijan, Poland explore urban development cooperation

Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, Anar Guliyev, held a series of bilateral meetings during his visit to New York, Report informs, citing the committee.

During the meeting with Jan Szyszko, State Secretary of Poland's Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, discussions focused on the legacy of the 11th World Urban Forum (WUF11) held in Katowice, as well as the outcomes of WUF13 in Baku. The talks highlighted how these results contribute to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and to sustainable urban development globally.

Both sides praised the existing five twin-city partnerships between Azerbaijan and Poland, noting that such cooperation provides a strong foundation for expanding exchanges in urban planning, sustainable development, and local governance.

Guliyev emphasized that the ongoing dialogue will elevate cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland in the field of urban planning to a new stage, fostering fresh joint initiatives both bilaterally and within international platforms.
