The Azerbaijani company Azvirt LLC has laid 32.5 km of the bottom layer of asphalt concrete pavement within the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor 3 (Bishkek-Osh Road) Improvement Project, Phase 4: Madaniyat-Jalalabad, Report informs referring to the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

About 33 percent of the funds allocated for the project have been spent.

In 2021, the bottom layer of asphalt concrete pavement was laid with a length of 17 km.

In total, more than 20 km of asphalt concrete pavement is planned to be laid in 2021.

The Ministry of Transport is implementing the project, and the section from Madaniyat settlement to Jalalabad city is 67 km long.

The project includes detailed design, earthworks, road construction, construction of new and restoration of old bridges, construction of culverts and water pipes, roadside improvement, road safety elements such as sidewalks, signs, safety barriers, bus stops, etc.

Since the conclusion of the contract with Azvirt LLC, the general contractor has completed the development of a detailed design and received a positive judgment from the state expertise.

As many as 150 people and 80 sets of large-sized equipment were mobilized to the site.

The contractor mobilized an asphalt concrete plant with a capacity of 210 tons per hour.

“Once the construction is complete, residents of the surrounding areas and users of the Bishkek-Osh road will be able to drive 67 km of new 2- and 4-lane asphalt concrete pavement, which will improve the quality of life of thousands of people and open up new opportunities for the development of the region,” the statement reads.

The project is funded by the Eurasian Development Bank.
