Azerbaijan gets rise in passenger and cargo transportations

Baku. 17 November. REPORT.AZ/ In the ten months of 2018, freightage increased by 1.5%, passenger transportation – by 1.3% in Azerbaijan.

Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee that enterprises and individuals operating in transport sector transported 188.9 million tonnes of cargo and 1,634.3 million of passengers in January-October 2018, respectively up 1.5% and 1.3% in comparison to a year ago. 64.7% of cargos were transported via automobile, 25.5% via pipeline, 6.1% via railway, 3.6% via sea and 0.1% via air transport.

88.1% of passengers were transported by automobile, 11.6% by metro, remaining part - by air and sea transport.
