AZAL seeks to become safe, sustainable, leading aviation ecosystem in Eurasia, company president says

Safety, operational excellence, sustainability, and energy transition are the strategic priorities of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), AZAL President Samir Rzayev said at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Aviation Energy Forum 2025 in Baku.

Rzayev noted that AZAL's transformation is not limited to operational growth:

"Our goal is to become a safe, sustainable and leading aviation ecosystem in Eurasia, and this vision is implemented through concrete steps, long-term planning and international cooperation. We are proud of our close partnership with IATA, our cooperation within CORSIA (Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation), and our active participation in ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and other international standards and platforms. These partnerships further strengthen our compliance with international standards on emissions, energy efficiency and climate disclosure, while also guiding our next steps towards building an accountable, sustainable and future-ready airline."
