Alstom started to build locomotives worth 300 million euros for Azerbaijan

Baku. 5 September. REPORT.AZ/ French "Alstom Transport" started to develop elements for 50 locomotives ordered by "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC, Report was told by Alstom 's senior vice president for Russia and the CIS countries Martin Vaujour.

The company official said that "Alstom" became the winner of the tender for supply of locomotives and the first contract was signed in 2014, during the visit of French President Francois Hollande to Baku, the final agreement was signed in May 2015.

M. Vaujour noted that the contract value for the purchase of 50 locomotives is approximately 300 million euros: "We have already started building locomotives and their elements."
