Saudi Arabia has launched a centralized Supply Pro platform for construction materials, Ali Al-Ahmed, Director General for Supply Chain at the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing of Saudi Arabia, said during an event held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
Al-Ahmed explained that the platform leverages large-scale production efficiency.
"On the supply side, we have established extensive collaborations with private real estate developers, construction material producers, and suppliers. Supply Pro benefits from Saudi Arabia's large-scale production efficiency. This means we negotiate not for 1,000 homes but for one million homes; we secure the best prices, safeguard our supply chain, and ensure developers and contractors benefit from these agreements. Ultimately, this reflects in the final housing prices for beneficiaries," he stated.
The director general added that Saudi Arabia has also signed agreements with both local and international developers: "We invite contractors and developers worldwide to come to Saudi Arabia, join us, and see the opportunities we can offer. Our doors are always open. Together, we can present methodologies and business models to deliver affordable housing to the Saudi people, making use of our subsidized land, infrastructure, and credit facilities."
