ADB consultant conducted a comprehensive gap assessment of Azerbaijan Airlines' sustainability- and climate-related financial disclosures against the requirements of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2.
According to ADB, cited by Report, the assessment identified key areas where Azerbaijan Airlines can further strengthen its sustainability and climate-related reporting.
The assessment was conducted as part of a Memorandum of Understanding to launch the "ESG Operationalization" Technical Assistance strengthening cooperation on sustainability signed between the AZAL and ADB.
To support implementation, ADB also organized a two-day ESG and IFRS S1/S2 Operationalization Workshop on 22–23 June 2026. The workshop was delivered by ADB"s consultants and focused on strengthening Azerbaijan Airlines" institutional capacity and supporting the practical application of international sustainability reporting practices.
More than 50 representatives from across the Azerbaijan Airlines Group participated in the workshop, including colleagues from Finance, Budget, Strategy, and other business units.
The technical assistance supports Azerbaijan Airlines in integrating environmental, social, governance (ESG), and sustainability considerations into its business, governance, and operational processes, with the aim of enhancing long-term business value and expanding opportunities for sustainable investment.
