Petkim saves $3.3M on energy efficiency

SOCAR-owned Petkim Holding saved $3.3 million in 2019 through the projects it implemented, Petkim Director-General Anar Mammadov said.

Report says, citing the holding, that, according to Mammadov, they give weight to energy efficiency for the future.

"23 projects we carried out in 2019 allowed us to save $3.3 million. With these projects, we could reduce energy costs and increase energy security, which is of great importance for the continuation of production at Petkim."

Mammadov also noted that the assets of the Petlim Limancilik Ticaret A.S. (Petlim) surged 7% in the reporting period.

He said that work on digitalization played a significant role in the successful activity in 2019.

"Petkim implemented 12 projects throughout the year, which made it successful in Davos. The company was included in the list of the best ventures using Industry 4.0 technologies. Thanks to the Industry 4.1 standard, Petkim joined the Global Lighthouse Network of the World Economic Forum (WEF). In 2019, Petkim was also awarded as the biggest exporter in the Aegean region, after its exports in the chemical and other sectors reached $622 million."
