World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championship starts in Baku

The World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championship starts in Baku today.

Report informs that the competitions, which will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time, will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena.

Some 170 athletes from 17 countries are expected to participate in the world championship, which will last until March 13. Gymnasts will perform in women's, men's and mixed doubles, as well as in women's and men's group events.

In the men's doubles, Azerbaijan will be represented by European junior champions Daniel Abbasov and Murad Rafiyev. Winners of international tournaments Sabir Aghayev and Mehriban Salamova, silver and bronze winners of the European Championship Aghasif Rahimov and Raziya Seidli will perform in the mixed doubles.
