Baku. 3 August. REPORT.AZ/ Ukrainian professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko has announced retirement from boxing.

Wladimir Klitschko has announced his shock retirement from boxing with immediate effect, ending any chance of a rematch against heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua on November 11, 2017. The 41-year-old Klitschko was famously beaten by Joshua in heavyweight scrap on 29 April this year in an 11th round stoppage.

Notably, Wladimir Klitschko’s professional career stands at 64 wins in 69 bouts, 54 by KO. He competed in 29 world title fights, which is a unique record in heavyweight boxing. The highlight of his great amateur career was his Gold Medal at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996. He unified the Heavyweight titles of WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO.
