WADA official: Works done by AMADA in short time really amazed us

Baku. 8 February. REPORT.AZ/ A briefing was held today at the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the representative of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Rafał Piechota and the Director of Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (ANADA) Shafag Huseynli.

Report informs, Sh. Huseynli presented Polish expert  to media representatives in Azerbaijan and informed about the purpose of the visit. She said that WADA representatives will make a statement based on their meetings in Azerbaijan: "They will send their opinions to us, as well as other countries will be informed about the formation and advancement of anti-doping policy in Azerbaijan and the work done during the year”.

Piechota said that this is a joint visit of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention and WADA. He underlined that they highly assessed the work done in Azerbaijan during a year: The purpose of the visit is to conduct monitoring and consultations on anti-doping policy in Azerbaijan. During the period of our stay, we held meetings with several state agencies - the National Olympic Committee (NOC), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the State Customs Committee, the State Border Service, the Ministry of Health and Federation representatives, including Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis). We were very pleased with the meetings. We highly appreciate the work done in Azerbaijan over a year. We will express our views on our observations at a meeting of the Council of Europe in May. Works done by AMADA in short time really amazed us. Very positive achievements have been made in a short period of time”.
