UFC President: McGregor out for one year

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor will be unable to compete for a year due to an injury sustained in his fight against American fighter Max Holloway, UFC President Dana White announced at a press conference, Report informs.

"McGregor is out for a year," White stated.

McGregor was defeated by technical knockout just 65 seconds into the bout at the UFC event in Las Vegas. The Irish fighter injured his knee in the opening moments and could not continue.

According to the UFC President, McGregor suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The fighter later stated on social media that he would undergo surgery and called for the fight to be declared void.
