Boston Celtics star fifth-year forward Jaylen Brown made history against the Cleveland Cavaliers, putting up 33 points in less than 20 minutes of playing time for the fastest any player has hit that mark in league history, per Basketball Reference and SportRadar via Yahoo Sports’ Keith Smith.
The Georgia native has been making something of a superstar leap of his own this season after having a front-row seat to teammate Jayson Tatum’s late in the 2019-20 NBA season, mastering the midrange with his improved ballhandling and body control. Having virtually doubled his career scoring rate of 13.8 points per game with 26.9 points per game this season, Brown put up 33 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday evening in just 19 minutes.
